Hi
everyone! I have felt so strongly the last few weeks that the Lord is pushing
me towards working better with the members here in Horsens. There are so many
small signs that keep pointing in that direction. Things are still foggy, I'm
not quite sure how to proceed, but I know as I do so in faith the Lord will
show the way. I would like to ask for suggestions and advice from all of you.
What are things that would help you become more involved in missionary work?
What are good ways for the full time missionaries to work with you the
missionaries? Ways they haven't before?
We've
had the thought of unplanned service a lot on our minds as well. Elder Reber
and I both felt prompted one day to start cleaning up the city of Horsens. Our
eyes were opened and we noticed the trash that is everywhere. The city is
beautiful, don't get me wrong, but we have been prompted to see the trash that
we hadn't seen before, and we have set aside time this next week to clean up a
specific area, as well as pick up trash we pass while walking. The spirit
dwells in a clean tabernacle. We have had a hard time finding people to teach
recently, so we need to change what we're doing. We both feel prompted that
this is right.
Its
interesting how the spirit changes our hearts. As soon as we got home we
cleaned our apartment. Not wanting to be as the hypocrites, and it has stayed
clean sense.
"Insanity
is doing the same thing over and over expecting the same results" we're
trying hard to change the way we are doing things here.
Last
week we set a baptismal date with a man named Mitch. He's great! As we were
talking to him he says to us "I feel like it all comes down to is Joseph
Smith a prophet of God?" He loves the church but doesn't want to join
because of that. He understands the importance of having a strong testimony of
the gospel. Its been exciting getting to know him and see his progression. He
has been super sick, and it was really hard for him to meet with the
missionaries, but received a blessing promising him that he would heal
physically, mentally, and spiritually as he came closer to Christ, and his
health has improved a tone ever sense as he has continued to investigate the
church.
I
hope all is well back home. I love you all. Have a great week.
Meget
Kærlighed,
Elder
Kenneth Burton
