Huge plants that grow everywhere here. It looks like rhubarb but I'm not sure.

Hey Everyone!
This week was great! We got to go to Obihiro and Wednesday and Thursday to do a baptismal interview and exchanges. The interview was for an 11 year old and he's awesome! It was fun interviewing him, he was very prepared. It was also fun working in Obihiro because it was warm! But it's actually been really warm the last couple days in Kushiro too, yesterday was my first full day wearing short sleeves and not regretting it haha.
We also met a person who used to meet with the missionaries who is a member of the Orthodox church, it was interesting talking with him, he knew a lot about Christian history and didn't believe there was an apostasy, so he didn't understand the need for a restoration. But we testified about Joseph Smith's experience and how through prayer and the Book of Mormon he could know it was true himself, and he agreed to read and pray and said we could come back so that was cool. It's exciting when people are willing to act in faith on something they hear from us even if it's different from what they've learned or done their whole lives. I'm excited to continue teaching him. We also had a man we met multiple times on the street come to our sports activity, which was fun, a lot of other people came too and everyone had a good time. That's about all for this week, it was fun! Hope you all are doing great as well! Love you all, have a great week!

Hey Everyone!
This week was amazing! We had exchanges, zone conference, and some awesome miracles! I went on splits with Elder White, he's from Vernal, Utah and this is his fifth transfer and he's a great missionary. Then we had interviews with President McClure which is always great, and we went out to eat sushi with the zone. After that we had a ping-pong party for zone activity; everyone had a great time. Then zone conference was amazing! We learned a lot about faith, accountability, and teaching repentance to better help people prepare to be baptized. My companion and I gave a workshop about using PMG more effectively and it went really well.

Hey Everyone!
We had transfers this week! I'm still in Kushiro but I have a new companion, Elder Johnson! He's from Elkridge, Utah, and he came to the mission at the same time as me. He's an awesome missionary, he's way fun and hardworking. He does a really good Obi-Wan impression. It's gonna be a really fun transfer.
We also had an amazing district conference yesterday! Elder Chei, the Asia North Area president, came and spoke and it was such a powerful talk! I was really motivated to work hard and believe that miracles are coming! He talked about gratitude and finding joy through missionary and temple work and he said he doesn't know when he'll come back to Kushiro but when he does he hopes it will be a stake! I think him saying that was exciting for the members, Kushiro is still a fairly small district so it will take a lot of growth to become a stake but it can happen! I'm so excited to see that day.
That's about everything exciting for this week. We have zone conference on Friday so we've got to get ready for that. The sakura have just started blooming! I'll try and get some pictures today. It's still not as warm as I've been hoping, but today is sunny which is good. I hope it's warm and sunny wherever all you are! Remember to be grateful for all the good things you have. No matter how many things aren't the way we'd like, there's always more to be grateful for. We're all so blessed. Have a great week everyone! I love you!

Hey Everyone!
This week was great! On Wednesday we went with the Ashdown's to do some service by greeting cruise passengers who came into Kushiro. We got to meet people from England, Australia, Candada, Florida, Texas, and Ogden, Utah! The couple from Ogden know my parents and grandparents and also have the last name Burton! It's a small world! While there I also got the chance to do some origami and Japanese archery! All while getting to know various Japanese people from Kushiro including a bunch of high school students , so it was a good activity.
On Wednesday and Thursday we went to Sapporo for a meeting and there were sakura blossoms! I've been so excited to see them, they haven't bloomed in Kushiro yet because it's still too cold. But it was cool seeing sakura by the temple, two of my favorite things!
