Bunch of Burtons
Gert came to church yesterday! We didn't even know he was
coming, all of a sudden he just showed up on his own! He's doing great, I don't
think I've ever had an investigator so eager to have us over. He calls us
multiple times a week asking when the next time is that we can come visit him.
Mei, a Chinese woman we teach, asked us to come check her
English translation of something. Turned out she was wanting us to do her
English homework for her. To her disappointment we made her do the assignment,
with some help catching mistakes or reform sentences. We had a short lesson
with her afterwords, but she has a hard time understanding the nature of God.
Or the fact that she can change.
Quite a few of our appointments were burned this week.
Probably our fault, we've been slacking on calling ahead of time to confirm
appointments, so we're going to change that this next week.
The cold water in our bathroom doesn't work so a plumber
came on Wednesday. Turns out he can't fix it, so a blacksmith has to come.
That's the problem with living in apartment buildings that our a few hundred
years old, the pipes are super corroded.
Quote- "The way to eat an elephant is by cutting it up
into little pieces."-Unknown
There are no big problems, just a bunch of little problems.
I was listening to a talk the other day that focused a lot around seeking
solutions. We tend to talk too much about problems and not enough about the
solutions. "Let us be apart of the answer, not a part of the
problem".
Sorry, this email is kind of short. Some one I know just sat
down next to me and asked for some help with an email he was wanting to send. I
read through it, made a few corrections and helped make sure it sent properly.
He's is from Afghanistan I believe.
Well, I hope y'all have a great week! Congratulations Gus on
the PineWood Derby! And Happy Birthday Alex!
Meget Kærlighed,
Elder Kenneth Burton
