Pablos Baptism!!
Life is so
good, this week was amazing. On Saturday Pablo Garces entered the waters of
baptism and began his journey. What an amazing man he is, it has been
incredible to see his change. When we first met him he was a man addicted to
drugs, and cigarettes, barely hanging on to his life. he first time we saw him,
he shed tears of sadness and despair, not knowing how to face the trails that
were in front of him. This week, we shared tears of happiness as he made the
best decision up till now in his life to be baptized. He really is a new man,
and he is just starting on the path. He asked me to baptize him and I was
honored to do so.

Training
the district leaders
Wow! What
an awesome week!! Sometimes I'm just so happy and I don't even know why. And
then I stop to think about the many many blessings that I have right now in my
life and I fully understand it. This week was awesome!! We had the opportunity
to train the district leaders of the mission and it went great. We have
realized lately that it doesn't do a lot of good to sit a bunch of missionaries
in a room and talk at them or even with them. Maybe you'll get some good ideas
going around but in the end nobody really learns that much or puts what they
learned in practice. The way to learn is by doing it. So this week for the
district leader training we did just that. We taught for about an out and then
we went out into the field to learn on the go. We had 4 groups of 6 to 7
missionaries working together in an area, trying to improve their skills and
help the people in that area. After two hours they all came back and reported
on what they did and learned. And wow, it was awesome! We ended up finding 16
new investigators, contacted more than a hundred people, placed more than 40
copies of the book of mormon, and more. All in less than two hours, in an area
that has been needing some serious help. It was awesome, when they all returned
we shared experiences and talked about what we learned and how we can all
improve. It ended up being a very spiritual meeting.

Goodbye
Elder Maldonado
First off,
don´t worry about the fact that I´m writing on tuesday, our p-day yesterday
wasn´t much of a p-day because we were helping the misionaries that were ending
the mission get off to the airport and everything. So we didn´t have time to
write. And today we were with all the new missionaries, so now we are trying to
get off a few emails now that we finished.
But wow,
yesterday was weird. I said goodbye to my companion Elder Maldonado and also my
trainer Elder Bahena. Two great missionaries who have become very close
friends. How time flies. I´m grateful for the things that they both taught me.
Now I am with my new companion Elder Tenhoeve! And wow, we are gonna have some
awesome transfers together. He is from Logan, and is a ton like me. Likes mountain
biking, wants to study medicine (is trying to convince me to do it at Utah
State), and loves the gospel. the Lord has even already started to bles us with
a few ideas that are really gonna change the mission. I´ll talk more about that
in a few weeks. But yeah, it´s gonna be fun, i´m super excited to be with him.
On Sunday
we traveled to the furthest área in the mission which was fun. WE had to move a
few missionaries, I ended up driving for about ten hours, more than 600
kilometers. But it was fun, super pretty out there. Nothing but fields and open
blue skies. I love this country.
Well,
sorry I don´t have much time to write, seems like it´s always that way lately.
But that´s life :) And it´s the best life :) I hope you all have a great week!
I love you all.

Here
come the changes...
Well
it has been another great and busy week down here in the best mission is the
world! :) This week we finished up the interviews and trainings in the last two
zones of the mission. They went super well! It has been a huge blessing to be
able to travel around the mission getting to know so many great people and
beautiful places. I have now taught a lesson with almost every missionary in
the mission which is pretty cool. It has helped us a ton know how to do the
transfers. Because that´s what we spent the rest of the week doing! And we are
pretty much finished.
One
part of the transfers that has been fun is that my companion, Elder Maldonado,
is ending his mission next week! Pretty crazy, it´s kind of heard to believe
that I´ve already been with him for 2 transfers. I´ve truly enjoyed my time
with him and I´ve learned a ton. But now I will have the opportunity to learn
from a new companion! I already know how it is, he will begin working with us
tonight so that he can be trained a little bit before Elder Maldonado leaves.
His name is Elder Tenhoeve, from Logan, Utah. I was his zone leader for a while
and we´ve done exchanges together a few times, so I already know him pretty
well. And I´m super excited, He´s an awesome missionary, I have a feeling that
we are going to work very well together. I´ll send pictures next week.
Well
that´s pretty much been this week. It flew by. I hope you all have a great
week, thanks for everything that you do! Have fun with the elections, vote for
my Mom!! :)
