Email February 5, 2019 – Elder Jackson Kunzler Burton

Hey Everyone!
Today was temple day which was awesome but I don't have a lot of time. I also got emails from more people than usual this week (thanks!) so I want to respond to those too. This week was great! We set another baptismal date with Kawamura San, a man who's been taking the lessons off and on for about a year, he's had a baptismal date before but hopefully this time will be different. He really busy and because of his job he can't come to church right now so please pray for him! Watanabe San, the other person we're teaching who has a date, is struggling with tobacco but he's trying hard so please pray for him too! We also this week had a person come to church who we received as a referral from another area, and they met him through Facebook! When he came to church it was the first time talking in person. We gave him a Book of Mormon and taught him about the restoration and he seemed really interested. He's busy with college but hopefully we'll be able meet again soon. We also helped a returning member's friend move her fridge, and we found out the friend is also a member who hasn't been to church in a few years. Hopefully this will be the start of her journey back to the covenant path. Testimony meeting on Sunday was also great, the members are starting to really feel the missionary spirit, and a lot of the testimonies related to missionary work. There was one member whose husband is not a member but has recently become interested in life after death, and we without knowing that felt prompted to send her a message asking if we could meet with her and her husband, so we'll be meeting them tomorrow. She shared that story during testimony meeting and it was really cool, I hope the meeting goes well. There's a lot more awesome things going on, I wish I could talk about more. I'm so grateful my companion is getting so many opportunities to teach so early in his mission, he's doing great and learning a lot, and his testimony and the love he shows to everyone is inspiring. That's all for now, I love you all, have a great week!

Love,
Elder Burton
