Traveling
missionaries
What
an awesome week!! I think I start every email saying that but I guess thats
just the mission for you. This last transfer President Thurgood starting a new
asignment of traveling assistants. Basically it´s just a companionship that
doesn´t have an area, they just travel every week to a different area to help
other missionaries out. And this week we had the awesome oportunity to have
them here in Alejandro Korn. And wow it was awesome, 2 extra missionaries just
means double of everything. We had a ton of success and we learned a lot. I
think the biggest thing I learned is the importance to really teach to help
people. It´s super easy to kinda fall into the habit of just teaching the same
thing to everyone and not apply what we teach especifically to the person. I
hadn´t realized that I had kinda fallen into that habit until I saw how these
other missionaries did it. Now I can see a huge diference in the way things are
going. It was a great week.
On
Tuesday we contacted a guy named Luis in the park. We talked with him for a bit
and he was super interested so right then and there asked him if he had a
little bit of time to go to the chapel to see what was like. He agreed and so
we went to the chapel and had a lesson about Christ. We showed him the new
easter video and he began to cry. He told us he wanted to learn more, but he
just moved here and didn´t remember his adress for us to come by his house. We
invited him to come to an activity in the church on thursday and there he could
give us his adress. That was kind of risky, usually if you don´t get an
adressddd you´ll never see dthe person again. But thursday rolled around and at
the very end of the activity when we had almost lost hope Luis showed up with a
friend and his step daughter! THey loved the activity and gave us their adress.
We were able to have a lesson later in the week where we set bauptisimal dates
for all three.
Well
I don´t really have much more to say. I hope everything is good at home and
that you all have a great week!
Les
quiero, Elder Burton
