There's an old lady who always brings her dog to the store and leaves it outside wrapped up in a jacket with her bike while she goes shopping.

Hey Everyone!

Hey Everyone!
Wow this week has gone fast. It feels like last P-day was yesterday! Lots of great things are happening here in Hakodate. On Tuesday, we went to visit a less active member, but they weren't home, but as we were walking away a neighbor was just getting home, so we asked him if he knew this person we had been trying to visit. He didn't, but he answered in fairly good English, so we asked him where he learned English. He paused for a second, and then without answering, he invited us into his house because it was cold. We were really surprised but we went in, and he sat us down, gave us some warm milk, and then went upstairs without really saying much. (And it was so hard not to watch the Olympics that was playing on his tv haha) So we were sitting there kinda confused and then he came back down the stairs and in his hand was an old copy of the Book of Mormon. My companion and I were both just thinking "No way!" Turns out he had taken the lessons 15 years ago, he had gone to church a few times and English class and he told us he still believes the church is true. His only problem then was the word of wisdom, he just couldn't keep it so he never got baptized and I guess eventually just stopped meeting with the missionaries. He was actually a former investigator in our area book and he's been called by previous missionaries since he stopped taking the lessons but he said he wasn't interested. But we ran into him not knowing he was a former investigator, and he decided to let us in and now he wants to come back to church again. I know that us running into him at that time wasn't an accident, I have a testimony that God knows each of his children, He doesn't forget about us when we stray from the path, and when the time is right, He'll help us get back again.

Hey everyone!
This has been a great week! I'm loving it here in Hakodate! For P-day last week we went ice fishing! But I was a little surprised when it turned out we were actually fishing for little tiny fish, about 2-3 inches long haha. But we caught a lot of them, and then fried them and ate them like fries! They were actually pretty good! Speaking of fish, we also went to a fish market today, there were live crabs and squid and all sorts of stuff it was cool.  We also went to a restaurant called Lucky Pierrott earlier in the week, it's a burger place in Hakodate, and it's a pretty interesting place. I'll send some pictures.
We also had a ton of snow this week, it snowed pretty much every day, and there was a blizzard on Saturday. I love it! I definitely wasn't expecting to have more snow with how far south Hakodate is, but I'm not complaining. I love snow!

Transfers...again?

Hey everyone!
So guess what! I got transferred to Hakodate! There was an emergency transfer, I got a call on Friday from President McClure saying he needed me to transfer by the next day. So now I'm in Hakodate, and my new companion is Elder Jensen. He's from Pocatello, Idaho, and he's awesome! I was sad to leave Eniwa and Elder Fukuda, I loved that area, and even just a week with a Japanese companion helped my Japanese a ton, but I'm excited to be in Hakodate! It's the southernmost city in the mission, and it's a really big tourist location. It's right by the ocean which is cool, we're going fishing later for P-day. My first night here we went to see a fireworks show with an investigator which was way cool. The members here are great, they're really willing to help with missionary work which is so important.

Transfers!

Hey everyone!
We had transfers this week! I'm staying in Eniwa, but I have a new companion and he's Japanese! His name is Elder Fukuda. He's a really nice guy. I was super nervous to get a Japanese companion because my Japanese is still pretty bad, but it's been ok. I've surprisingly been able to mostly communicate what I want. He speaks a little English so that helps too. But it's been fun. It's definitely a lot different than working with an American companion, but I'll get used to it eventually.
