Email July 9, 2018 – Elder Jackson Kunzler Burton

Hey Everyone!
This week was great! We were able to have a few lessons with investigators that went well, although a few of our appointments fell through which was kinda disappointing. Also Togawa didn't come to church again so he won't be able to make his baptismal date but he's still meeting and we're really hoping he'll come next week. Sugawara Kyoudai, the less active member we found, has been coming to church every week though, he's doing really well. It's really cool to see him learning and growing as he becomes active again. We went out to eat with him this week which was fun. We also got an appointment set up with a man we met a few weeks ago so hopefully that will go well this week. Today we had our district activity, we went to this replica village of Hokkaido from 100 years ago, it was pretty cool. It felt kind of like going to one of the church historical sites which was cool. Hokkaido is similar to the American West because it was settled way later than the rest of Japan, so the old buildings had that same pioneer feel, just with a Japanese twist haha. We also went and got huge parfaits as a district which was fun. Sorry this email is kinda short, not a ton happened this week but it was still great. I've learned a lot this week, especially about obedience. I really know that as we strive to be exactly obedient we are blessed, even if we can't see those blessings immediately. I'm still striving to become better and make sure I'm exactly obedient, and I've really seen the difference it, makes. Obedience is the price! I love you all, have a great week!

Love,
Elder Burton
