The week started out with
Skagen! At the very tip of Denmark you can see the two oceans colliding.
It was pretty cloudy the day
we went so you cant really see it very well in the photos though. As you walk
the beach up to the tip though there are a tone of half buried bunkers from
World War 2, most of them were sealed off, but we were able to find a way
inside of one and it was pretty cool. I'll attach photos. I found a star fish
right on the tip of Skagen. I had taken off my shoes and walked out a little
ways and the star fish floated right past. I took it home and dried it out.

Great week, actually I don't know if there really ever has
been a bad week. Simon and Lisa Lotte a couple who showed up to church two
weeks ago had their baby last week and have been at the hospital sense because
of a few health concerns with the new baby, who they named Anikin from Star
Wars. Their very serious about coming to church, they had to get special
permission to leave the hospital on Sunday to come to sacrament meeting with
their new born. We where going to try and set a baptismal date with them, but
they had to leave 20 minutes into guest class so we taught a quick version of
the restoration. They have committed to read and pray though and if they find
out that its true they'll be baptized. They're going to come to church next
week too. The dad, Simon, is wanting the very best for his child. His wife had
been to our church a few times before they were married and told him it was the
best of all the churches, so this is where their coming. Simon is Swedish so
their is a little language barrier, but its not to bad. Two weeks ago when they
were in church we taught them in English because of the language issue, and
this time I started in English, but it felt really stiff and formal, after a
few minutes I slipped into Danish and all of a sudden things became smoother,
simpler, and the lesson went a lot better. I can now testify of the importants
to teach in Danish, Its what we where called to teach in, and we will receive
Gods help if we follow our calling.

On Thursday we had Zone training and then a Zone activity playing
capture the flag, ultimate frisbee, and ultimate spoons on a
wet field in the rain. It was a lot of fun!
You couldn't cut at all as you were running other wise you would
slide out and fall on your back. Everyone was covered in mud by the end of the
day. And for the next few days we were super stiff and sore. It was worth it
though.
During personal study earlier this week I discovered/made a quote.
"Righteousness and Disobedience are exactly the same, with each step they
both become easier." Every time we make a choice, whether down the path of
righteousness or down the path of disobedience, it becomes easier to continue
down that path. If a poor decision was made its easier to sin the next time
faced with a temptation. When we choose the right, we join back on Gods side
and he gives us help, making it easier to make the right choice the next time.
Its so important for us to always choose the right so that we will always have
God to be with us and that we will be protected form the fiery darts of
the adversary.

Happy Star Wars Day yesterday!
And May the fourth be with you!
Great week! We were so busy, I dont think we stoped
moving once. We had a ton of service oportunities this week, Friday and
Saturday were both spent in service clothes. Every Friday we go to Gregs house
and spend the day doing service for him, this week we built a pizza oven out of
clay and brick and then made some amaizing pizzas in it the next day. Ill try
and send pictures, right now I cant figure out how to get them off my camera,
this is a pretty old computer.
Thoughts of Grandma Erva
Mom & Dad!
Yes, we were knocking doors when President called and gave us the news. It was interesting because I'd had such a rough morning concentrating and staying focused but when the news came I had just barely finished bearing my testimony of the plan of salvation to a young man who opened his door. I felt so much peace! I know that it is all true. We will live together again and we have a Heavenly Father who loves us so very much.
It was a wonderful experience to be able to finish out the day with Grandma Erva's spirit in my heart. I thought of how often we went over to find her sweeping snow in a deep storm. I thought of her testimony that she wrote to me on little index cards throughout my mission. I thought of her tying a plastic bag over my hair when I was a little girl before we went out in the rain. Spray butter and white bread toast. Music. So many memories.
I had one thought, "Ah, but she won't meet my children!" Until I realized that she probably already has, and that she is up there doing the same exact same work I'm doing here. She is as diligent and loving as ever.
Those thoughts carried the day, and it was a day of miracles. I love my Grandma Erva very much. Thanks for sending the obituary and Dad, the picture! It means alot. I'm so glad that you are all doing well and that you were able to be there with her as she left.
I LOVE YOU!!
~Alex
Hey fam,
President called me Friday morning with the news about Grandma Erva passing. Right at the begining of personal study. I was able to use the rest of my studies to write down memories of Grandma. A few things that stood out... Playing tic-tac-toe on that blue pillow she had when we were little. And there was the piano bench full of coloring books and pencils. I remember sitting with Grandma out on the old porch swing. All the times we would mow her lawn and she would come out with popsicles after.
I am so greatful for Christ and his atonement for us, that we and those we love can rise again. Because of him the end has been taken away. We will see Grandma Erva again. I can picture her right now hand in hand with Grandpa, smiling!
Thanks for sending the obituary and photo! It brought more memories of all the stories her and Grandpa told.
Love, Elder Burton
