Gods Humor

I think that God probably has a pretty good sence of humor and he likes to laugh. Sometimes I wonder if he asks us to do things in this life not only so that we can learn and grow but also so that he can get a good laugh as he watches us do it.

Friday night I recieved a call from our mission president which I had been expecting because its the end of the transfer. The call went something like this: Presidente: " Elder Burton, how are you?" Me: "Great president, and you?" President:"Very good, Elder Burton, the Lord has decided to make a change in you asignment here in this mission, are you ready to here what it is? Me: Yes president, I´m super excited to find out where I´ll be serving." President: "Alright Elder Burton, the Lord has asigned you to serve in the zone Longchamps as zone leader." Me: "........................."

Baptism!

Some days you just have bad luck with cibers. We spent three hours this morning looking for an open ciber. You know what they say, 6th times the charm haha. It was actually kinda fun traveling all over the place just searching around. Just two guys in shirts and ties wandering around the suburbs of Argentina. Doesn´t get much better than that :)

The baptism of Diego went great Saturday! He was super ready and excited. He really has made so much progress, it´s been cool to work with him and become his friend. We had an atendance of 22 which was super good considering that our average sunday atendance is 45. Everything went great, it was a good day. Oh. except for the fact that we forgot to get the key to the baptisimal faunt before hand so we had to run to the bishops house in 95 degree wheather to get it in time. Haha, my comp wasn´t too happy after that, it was alright though.

Waterbaloons

Another great week here in Rafael Castillo like always. It was definitely a little slow, we had very few appointments this week and those that we did have pretty much all fell through which was too bad. It was a great week for contacting though which is always fun. I never will stop being surprised at how much the spirit really guides your words as long as we just have the courage to open our mouths. Once your mouth is open the spirit can fill it. The Key is getting it open. I´ve found that the hardest part of contacting is just getting up the courage to do it. Which reminds me of a quote that my sister said in the beginning of her mission: " The thing with courage is that the passage of time doesn´t stregthen it, it weakens it." It´s so true. The less you think and worry about dificult things the easier they are. Put your trust in God and fear not.

I had divisions this week with an Elder in my district named Elder Bautista from Mexico. It was a great intercambio and I feel like I learned a lot from it. That is one thing that I have really like so far about being district leader, the intercambios every week. I love seeing the new areas and getting new ideas. Everytime I come back from an intercambio I feel refilled with ideas for my area and my spanish always feels better to. Which is the point of the intercambios, I'm glad that they´ve been so succesful.

Feliz Año Nuevo!!

Feliz año nuevo!! I hope that it was great for everyone! Pretty crazy here, basically just parties and fireworks. Lots and lots of fireworks. A family in our ward here invited us to spent new years eve with them which was great. Played lots of fun games and ate a ton of food. It was a great way to end 2015.

I´m super grateful for this last year, it really changed my life in so many ways. I graduated, went through the temple, and of course the biggest thing, spent 6 months serving the Lord in Argentina. What a great year that i will never forget. The crazy part is that this year will be even better, this is the only year of my life that will be completey spent on my mission. I couldn´t be more excited :)
